Shruti Sharma tops civil services in a exam, to women bag top ranks
NEW DELHI: Shruti Sharma, a student of the history, has been topped the civil services are examination in 2021, with the first three rank to holders being a women in the results are announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on a Monday.
Ankita Agarwal and the Gamini Singla have been secured the second and the third rank respectively. A total of the 685 candidates - 508 men and the 177 women - have been qualified and their names were recommended by the Commission for the appointment to the various central are services, the UPSC said.
Among the finally qualified are candidates, top three are women candidates, the Commission said.
Sharma, who has been graduated in the History (Hons.) from the University of the Delhi, topped the examination with the history as her optional subject.
Agarwal, a graduate in the economics (Hons.) from the University of the Delhi, secured the second rank with the political science and the international relations as her optional subject.
Singla, a Bachelor of theTechnology (BTech) in a computer science, stood third in the rank with the sociology as her the optional subject, the UPSC said.
Aishwarya Verma secured the fourth position and the Utkarsh Dwivedi achieved the fifth rank, it said.
The top 25 candidates are the comprise are the 15 men and the 10 women.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi are congratulated the successful candidates and had words of the encouragement for those who could not clear the exam.

Educational qualifications of the top 25 successful candidates are range from the graduation in the engineering; humanities; commerce and medical science from the premier institutions of the country such as a IIT, AIIMS, VIT, and PEC, University of a Mumbai, University of the Delhi, GB Pant University, etc., the UPSC said.
Top 25 successful candidates have been opted for the subjects are like the anthropology, economics, geography, Hindi literature, history, mathematics, medical science, political science & the international relations, public administration, sociology and the zoology as their optional choice in the written (main) examination, it said.
The recommended candidates are the also include a 25 persons with the benchmark disability (seven orthopedic ally handicapped; five visually challenged, eight hearing a impaired & five with the multiple disabilities), the Commission said.
Of the successful candidates, 244 are from the General category, 73 from the Economically Weaker Sections, a 203 of the Other Backward Classes, 105 from the Scheduled are Castes and 60 from the Scheduled Tribes.
The civil services are examination is the conducted annually by the UPSC in a three stages are preliminary, main and the interview to the select officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS) among are others.
The civil services are (preliminary) examination, 2021 was conducted on the October 10th, 2021.
A total of the 10,93,984 candidates are applied for this examination, out of which 5,08,619 candidates are appeared in the examination, the UPSC said.
As a many as 9,214 candidates are qualified for the appearance in the written (main) examination which was held in a January 2022.
A total of the 1,824 candidates are qualified for the personality test of the examination, it added.
The candidature of the 80 candidates is a provisional, while the result of the one candidate has been withheld.
