Vayu Cyclone Live Update,Date, Live Status,Control Room Help Line Number Gujarat

It is very likely to move nearly northwards and cross Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Mahuva around Veraval & Diu region as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm with wind speed 140-150 kmph gusting to 165 kmph during early morning of 13th June 2019.

11th June: Gale Wind speed reaching 90-100 kmph gusting to 115 kmph is likely to prevail over Eastcentral Arabian Sea and 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph along & off North Maharashtra coast from 11th evening. It is very likely to be 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph over Lakshadweep area, Kerala, Karnataka & south Maharashtra Coasts.

The Sea condition is very likely to be high to very high over eastcentral Arabian Sea on 11th. The sea condition is very likely to become very high to phenomenal over eastcentral & adjoining northeast Arabian Sea & Gujarat coast from 12th evening and over north Arabian Sea on 13th June 2019.The Sea condition is very likely to be rough over Lakshadweep area, along & off Kerala, Karnataka & south Maharashtra Coasts on 11th; very rough to high along & off Maharashtra Coast on 12th & 13th June, 2019.
 
Fishermen Warning
 
The fishermen are advised not to venture into Southeast Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep area, along & off Kerala and Karnataka coasts on 11th; Eastcentral Arabian Sea and along & off Maharashtra Coast on 11th & 12th; northeast Arabian sea and along & off Gujarat coast on 12th & 13th.

Storm Surge Warning
 
Storm surge of height of about 1.5-2.0 m above the astronomical tides likely to inundate the low lying coastal areas of Kutch, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagarh, Diu, Gir Somnath, Amreli and Bhavnagar districts at the time of landfall.
 
Damage Expected and Action suggested for Kutch, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Rajkot, Junagarh, Diu, Gir Somnath, Amreli and Bhavnagar districts of Gujarat:

Total destruction of thatched houses/extensive damage to Kutcha houses. Some damage to pucca houses. Potential threat from flying objects. (ii) Bending/uprooting of power and communication poles. (iii) Major damage to Kutcha and Pucca roads. Flooding of escape routes. Minor disruption of railways, overhead power lines and signalling systems. (iv) Widespread damage to standing crops, plantation, orchards, falling of green coconuts and tearing of palm fronds. Blowing down bushy trees like mango. (v) Small boats, country crafts may get detached from moorings. (vi) Visibility severe affected.
 
 
Action suggested:
 
Regulate road & rail traffic (ii) Total suspension of fishing operations. (iii) Evacuation from low lying areas of the above mentioned Districts, coastal Hutment dwellers, urban slum dwellers and people staying in unsafe house to safer places. People in affected areas to remain indoors.(iv) Movement in motor boats & small ships unsafe. (v) Inundation of low lying areas in the along the coasts due to heavy rainfall and storm surge.
 
The next bulletin will be issued at 0230 hrs IST of 12th June, 2019.
 
Rescue agencies on high alert
 
NDRF is closely monitoring the development and has mobilised 36 teams for pre-positioning in the vulnerable locations of Gujarat and Daman & Diu in consultation with local governments.
 
"All NDRF teams are fully equipped with various types of cutting, flood rescue equipment, V-SAT & Satellite communication equipment for rescue and relief operations," the NDRF said in a statement.
NDRF battalions stationed innearby states are also being kept on stand-by and directed to keep a close watch over the situation, the statement said.
 
Indian Coast Guard, the Navy, Army, and Air Force units have also been put on standby and surveillance aircraft and helicopters are carrying out aerial surveillance.

Include a charged cell phone, torch, radio, batteries, matches, candles, food, water, can opener, knife, and first aid supplies.

During

Walk only where floodwaters aren’t moving.

Use a stick to check the depth of the water and firmness of the ground in front of you.

If there’s a chance of flash flooding, move immediately to higher ground.

Flash floods are a leading cause of weather-related deaths.

Vayu Cyclone Control Room Help Line Number Gujarat

With cyclonic storm Vayu intensifying in the Arabian sea coast, the weather department has put Gujarat on alert. Cyclone Vayu is expected to hit Gujarat coast on June 13 and heavy rainfall warning has been sounded in parts of Gujarat for the next few days. Mumbai will also get affected by cyclonic storm Vayu, but not severely. Per the latest weather report, the cyclonic storm Vayu is located around 650 km south of Veraval coast and is "very likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm" in the next 12 hours.Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday said people living in the coastal belt would be shifted to safer places. The entire coastline, starting from Kutch to south Gujarat, has been put on "high alert", he said.The weatherman has put across an 'orange message' for south Gujarat region on June 12, which warns authorities to be prepared.

"Cyclone Vayu is likely to cross Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Mahuva around Veraval and Diu region as a very severe cyclonic storm with wind speed 130-140 kmph gusting to 155 kmph during mid-night of 12th June 2019," the National Disaster Management Authority tweeted.

Cyclone Vayu might bring light showers to cities, like Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Rajkot, Veraval and Bhuj on June 12 and June 13.Cyclone Vayu is expected to be closest to the Saurashtra Coast by June 12 and between June 12 and June 14, the western-most parts of Saurashtra and Kutch region in Gujarat could witness squally winds and heavy to very heavy rains, weather officials said.
